Gilly, it is a crab apple tree, so all we get from the beautiful blossoms is a lawn full of tiny, bitter apples to rake up. It's worth it for the wonderful sight and aroma in the spring. Our daughter Kris lives near a woods in the country, and they have all kinds of songbirds...oreoles, finches, bluebirds, cardinals, woodpeckers and more. Us, not so much this year. We have some chickadees and a cardinal pair, mourning doves and robins...but nothing exotic. The "Dairy State" is Wiscon. Wisconsin is just to the left of Lake Michigan. The little red barn bird feeder is an allusion to the numerous cattle. The long grass you can just glimpse in the rear is around a little creek in the back. We can't mow it because if we tried we would tumble down the slope!Dorcas (aka SingingOwl)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15626748280614018533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13173725.post-42068503404227656042009-05-21T04:48:54.202-05:002009-05-21T04:48:54.202-05:00What a beautiful spot!
