Guess What?!

From sadness to joy in a few days. Life is strange.

This is my daughter, Kris. She doesn't always dress like this, but it is the only (sort of) recent picture I have. Last night she and her husband shared some exciting news. Guess what? Scroll down for a hint.....Okay, more than a hint.

She is about two months pregnant! Okay, people get pregnant all the time. I know. But we've had some heartache where babies are concerned....and
we had almost figured we would maybe never have grandchildren. Future Grandpa was grinning all night (even in his sleep).

I'm so happy about this!

Congratulations! Other people having kids is awesome, you get all the upsides, they get to deal with the headaches.

I think my parents have given up on getting grandkids from me. Especially after I told them "see, I know where babies come from, I remember that talk we had all those years ago!" I got cuffed upside the head for that one.

  8. Congrats, Owl! I'll keep your family before the Lord in prayer! Kris looks just like you! What kind of Native American outfit is she wearing?

    Be blessed!

  9. Net, it is a plains Indian dress, probably Crow. The shells would most likely have originally been elk's teeth--but they make a good substitute, elk being scarce. :-)

The cloak is one she made for her husband whose camp name is "Two Foxes." She beaded the bag she is holding with tiny seed beads.

You can read more about why she is dressed this way at this link. http://pastoretteponderings.blogspot.com/2005/05/going-back-in-time.html

And thanks for the well-wishes, everyone. LOL at QP. 8^D

  10. I feel blessed to share in this experience. God never ceases to amaze me! In his infinite timing and wisdom he works all things out for the good. He restores loss and brokenness in greater measure than we could ever ask for. Praise the Lord! (Keeping Kris and your family in my prayers)
