Recalling God's Goodness 10

I thank you, Lord, that I have a warm house, a blanket, a couch, and food to eat. I am not being facetious, because I know there are many who do not have these things. Thank you that I can come in from the cold. Please help those who are homeless on cold streets tonight to find a place of warmth, and even more, a place of hope and healing.

The temperature was -13 when we left for church this a.m. Right now it is -1. The wind chill is about -25. I am SO GLAD I am not among the crowd at Lambeau Field in Green Bay!

Now, to settle in to watch the big championship game. Odd, but I do not care about sports--but I am infected with Packer fever right now, just like everyone else here behind the cheddar curtain.

Super Bowl, here we come. Maybe.

Too bad about the game...

We're not usually into football but even we get caught up in the fever when the Packers get into post season play.

Shhhh! don't tell anyone, but we even changed our dog's name from Reggie when we brought him home from the humane society...so now he's Fenway (not even a Brewer reference). He joined us 10 years ago this coming summer. And still they let us stay in Wisconsin, despite this great sin.

Not quite as cold here in south-central WI, but still bad especially for those dealing with homelessness.

I had the game on too, since the Pack is the team of my child hood. I was even rooting for them, although, I can't say I really "watched" the game, ie, I didn't sit down and stare at the TV. Mostly I think how stupid it is to let oneself get hit and fly through the air.

I missed the end of the game...watched until it went into overtime, went to make a quick phone call, and when I came back to the TV it was over. Too bad, but I can still cheer for the Patriots, thanks to the couple of years I lived in Boston.
