Matthew 20:28
"...the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Not to be served
but to serve.
The words sound
good
and holy and right.
We know, Lord,
we followers of yours,
that we are servants.
It sounds simple,
and if
we only could.
Why is it
so hard
this simple thing?
Lead me to the cross
and remind me
Oh Lord,
that my life
is lost
so I may be found.
Lead me to the cross,
and remind me.

Thank you for this post, I did enjoy it. It seemed to soften my heart some:)
your blood was spilled...my ransom
thank you Jesus
...silence...............
Allow me to lead you to ever so "Christian" U*U Peacebang's cross. Well one of them anyway. . .
BTW "We won’t challenge you. You will always leave feeling good. We stand for nothing. We like everyone. We maximise the fun stuff like music and minimize the potentially un-fun stuff like a sermon."
Is the not-so-underlying message of no shortage of U*U "churches".
Roger, you said that my comment to PB's post, "...Is the not-so-underlying message of no shortage of U*U "churches". I probably would agree. I am not an apologist for the UU Movement, to say the least. I did not know PB's post was about a UU church. I also have no wish whatsoever to intrude in inner workings of UU congregations or ministers. All things considered, I probably should not have left a comment at all. Peace.
Singing Owl,
PeaceBangs's post was not about a "sister" U*U church. It seems to have been about a UCC church from what I can gather. I was just pointing out that it could have been and thus your critical commentary, especially the -
"We won’t challenge you. You will always leave feeling good. We stand for nothing. We like everyone."
bit, could apply very well to a good number of U*U "churches" if not the U*U Movement more generally.
Ah. I went to the church's website and mis read, it seems.
Point taken.
Did you misread or did "Christian" Unitarian*Universalist Rev. Victoria Weinstein aka Peacebang *misrepresent* to some degree?
Actually, it started with your blog post where you say, "...blog post takes the UUC First Church in Pembroke to task..." instead of UCC. Then I went to the church website and it just said First Church. My misake, not misrepresentatopm by anyone.
That was an interesting word. Of course, I meant misrepresentation.
