Liking this post from J. Lee Grady....thought I'd share. Thinking today of all the relationships that made me cry...but I wouldn't trade the experiences. Lee is right. It is about relationship.

Dorcas, thank you for your comment on Thursday's prayer at RevGals Prayer Blog--it helped me to see I could use that for someone I am struggling with, too. A simple prayer that helps me, too, is
"Bless ______, change me."
You don't know how much I needed to read that link! I have no church, no friends, a difficult marriage - and I'm now disabled and getting to the end of my life (I'm 77). I know I must find a church where I can find a family - even if their theology isn't not quite mine. Or I must persevere with a cold church, whose theology I feel comfortable with.
I need, oh how I need! a Christian relationship!
God Bless you!
Praying for you, Jan, as I work on my attitude! :-)
Gilly, I can't walk in your shoes, but I understand. And if I have to choose, I think I'll choose the family that cares even if I don't quite agree on everything.
Love wins out over doctrine at some point in life! Praying for you.
We were visiting a friend whose husband was an unafilliated pastor- in other words he was working a secular job. We ate at a restaurant and she left a cheesy track and I suggested she instead befriend the waittress in which she told me its easier to leave tracks because she doesn't have time to invest in people. And we wonder why retention rates are so dismal....
Well, I guess I'm an unaffiliated pastor, thinking about it. :-) This is so pathetic, isn't it?
I'm afraid I would have said something very rude to that woman...easier...? No time? Lord, have mercy on us!
