Heading Home Today

I believe that we truly had "the mind of the Spirit" this week. It was tumultuous, distressing, wrenching and fast. I spent much of last night weeping instead of sleeping, but I know this must happen. My sister will be moving to the adult family home very soon. Her husband, her son and his wife, and me--everyone is grieving, but in unity. Praise be to God. I'm going to go pack now. :-)

I am so glad that you have a decision you are all peaceful about and a place she can receive loving care. Peace and blessings on your travel and as you continue to process this sad and challenging step.

Praise God for unity! We too are at a new place in life. My inlaws moved into our home yesterday from another state to live out their remaining years. We hope to move them to a retirement community as my house is still very active and I'm afraid a bit chaotic at times. (Especially when my darling grandson is here...http://live4truth13.blogspot.com/2007/02/update-of-sorts-apparently-i-dont.html) I think they will be happy having a quiet place they can go to rest-especially at night. But mostly, they came here because my dh and I are at a place in our lives where we are more available than his 4 sisters. The funny thing is, one sister took it very personal and is angry that she didn't "get to take care of them." She and her dh both work full time and have two very young boys.

I'm rambling, but mostly wanted to thank-you for sharing such personal glimpses into your life. It helps to know how others deal with caregiving decisions and you manage so beautifully!
