Lenten Prayer #30: For Prisoners and Their Families

Psalm 69:32-33  You who seek God, let your heart revive.  For the LORD hears the needy and does not despise His who are prisoners.

We pray that people in jails and prisons will hear the Good News and have opportunities to follow Christ.  We pray for the fellowship of believers to multiply.  We pray for chaplains and volunteers and others who do their best to help, sometimes under very trying conditions, restrictions and locations.  We pray for protection from violence and forces of spiritual evil.  We pray that the spouses and families and loved ones of inmates would be sustained, protected, provided for and honored rightly.  We pray that released prisoners find strength and wisdom to live abundant lives.  We pray for employment, for churches with open hearts and doors, for genuine repentence and for renewed minds. Amen
