Thankfulness 2010 My Husband

As I mentioned a few posts ago, October was Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Every time I read statistics of the violence--whether it is physical, emotional, sexual or verbal (or all of them) I find myself feeling renewed gratitude for my dear husband of nearly forty years.

Today he is travelling with me to Tennessee so I can officiate at the marriage ceremony of a very special young woman and her fiancee. It will be nice to spend time together, even if it is in the van heading down the highway.

I will never forget the day I met him, nor the day I married him, and I will be forever grateful for a man who has stood by my side through many challenges and changes. Sometimes, come to think of it, he has stood a little ahead and beckoned me onward, and sometimes he has stood behind me and pushed a little. But he has always hoped, believed, trusted, and loved.

If you are a pastor or church professional who would like to know more about what we can do to help those in our pews who are abused, I recommend you take a look at this blog post.

I've been enjoying your thankfulness writings. It is an uplifting thing to read. One year, I kept a Thankfulness diary. My goal was to write a sentence or two per day. After awhile, it was a paragraph or two because I developed a better outlook on many things. BTW, too late now, but I saw that Penneys in Manitowoc have a number of skirts on the racks. Hope you had a great trip. Mom seems pretty good, and the family gathering, while sad was also joyous due to Auntie's faith. And a pastor who obviously enjoyed visiting this woman.

Good! I have never been to the Pennys in Manitowoc. Might have to check it out. I was picking up some last minute stuff before the wedding in TN and noted that the Sears there had LOTS of dresses. Must be a Wisconsin thing? I was just astounded that both Kohls and Sears told me they don't carry dresses anymore!

Penneys in Manti and Younkers in Manti are both near the lake, almost next to each other, and both in "dead malls." Such a shame, and there is no other good shopping in Manti. I think that these stores vary by place. I can get Lee jeans in Long in that Penneys and in Duluth, but not other places. And Lee jeans in other stores don't fit me, for some reason. The best thing is that both of these stores are about a mile from the nursing home where my mom is.

We were in North Carolina in Oct visiting our son and his wife, but we flew there. I can't imagine driving that far for a weekend. We were near Tenn because we also went on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I was favorable impressed with NC. Son is in grad school to become a grade school teacher.
