Trinity and Rex in our yard.
Rex and Me
Not long ago our family was saddened by the death of J.J., our son Josh's dog. And now something very similar has happened to Rex, Kris, Daryl and Trinity's great and good family doggy.
My mom and Rex.Rex and Me
Rex was a leggy Great Dane mix--a joy to watch run and jump. He was also a very loving, sweet and patient dog, putting up with the not-always-gentle Trinity with grace and an always watchful eye. It is so sad. We will all miss him very much. I hope that somewhere Rex is playing with his little buddy, J.J.

Dear Singing Owl,
I am so sorry to hear this news.Rex was a great dog .I know how much he meant to all of you.
Prayers to you and yours.
What a good dog! I'm so sorry. Peace and comfort to all of you.
It always saddens me when I learn of families losing a beloved pet. Some people can just shake this off, saying well, it was only a dog (or a cat or whatever) and I wonder what kind of people they are then that can't have enough feelings to mourn the loss of a pet. It does leave just as much of a gap in one's family, one's life, to lose an animal you've had with you, raised, cared for and yes, loved dearly as is does to lose a human family member.
I'm so sorry your family has had this loss and I empathize greatly with you and your daughter's family over Rex's demise. And as you said, here's hoping he's romping with his old pal, J.J. too now.
Why you can see what a great and good dog Rex was from those pictures!
(((((SO and family))))
I'm so sorry. He was such a beauty and it is great that you have these photos that memorialize (I think that's the word I want) the gift of joy that he brought to his family.
I have to believe that he is playing with J.J.
Hopefully he and Tanner are having a sniff somewhere. I'm so sorry.
I'm sorry. Losing a dog, especially a good one, is hard.
I missed this one. This makes me so sad. He was such a sweet dog.
I'm sorry about Rex. There have been a lot of sad things with dogs lately.
you are in my prayers.
I just love that pic of Leta with Rex. Its adorable.
Don't know who you are, anon, but Rex always did want to be a lap dog. And with those bony "elbows" of his, that could be a problem. I love that picture too. Funny, it makes me happy and sad at the same time when I look at it. My mom was a little afraid he would knock her down the first time she saw him, he was so big, but he seemed to know he had to be a little careful. Rex did great when he visited the nursing home.
P.S. That isn't the nursing home. That is at Kris' house, about three years ago at Thanksgiving. Last trip for my mom.
